About Amritsar

Amritsar is a city in the Indian state of Punjab. It's the second-largest city in Punjab, after Ludhiana. Amritsar is a major cultural, transportation, and economic center. It's also the center of Sikhism and the site of the Sikhs' principal place of worship, the Harmandir Sahib, or Golden Temple. Amritsar is located about 15 miles (25 km) east of the border with Pakistan. It's known as the "Golden city". Amritsar was named after the lake founded by the fourth Sikh Guru Ram Das in 1574. The city originated in the village of Tung. Amritsar is home to the world famous Golden Temple, which is considered to be the most crucial holy and pilgrimage shrine of the Sikh Religion. The Wagah border is located approximately 29 kilometers away from the city. The site is known for the ceremony of Beating Retreat and Change of Guard.

  • Day 1 : Arrival Amritsar Airport/ Railway Station

    Arrive at Amritsar airport/railway station, meet our representative & transfer to the hotel after refreshments proceed for Amritsar Sightseeing.

    Golden Temple
    The Golden Temple is a gurdwara located in the city of Amritsar, Punjab, India. It is the preeminent spiritual site of Sikhism. It is one of the holiest sites in Sikhism, alongside the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Kartarpur, and Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib.

    Jallianwala Bagh
    Jallianwala Bagh is a historic garden and ‘memorial of national importance’ close to the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar, Punjab, India, preserved in the memory of those wounded and killed in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre that occurred on the site of the festival of Baisakhi, 13 April 1919

    Durgiana Temple
    The Sri Durgiana temple is a very important temple for Hindus. In the courtyard of the temple is a tree where Lava and Kusha bound Hanuman after the captured challenge horse of the Ashvamedha yajna. Iksvaku, the grandson of the sun god, performed a number of yagyas on this land. The original temple was built in the 16th century.

  • Day 2 : Amritsar Sightseeing

    After breakfast proceeds to visit Wagah or Wagha a village and union council located in the Wahga Zone, Wagah, an army outpost on the Indo-Pak border – between Amritsar and Lahore, is an elaborate complex of buildings, roads, and barriers on both sides. The daily highlight is the evening “Beating the Retreat” ceremony.
